At SunStar Strategic, our people are as successful in their personal lives as they are at work. Meet one of our new team members, Jake Oxley.
Well-traveled would be an understatement for Associate Account Executive Jake Oxley, who has lived in five countries: Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Germany, and the United States. However, five is not enough for Jake who has aspirations to continue his world travels.
“Surprisingly I haven’t been to Europe since I was a child; Italy is definitely at the top of my list for future travels, and I’d also like to visit South Africa.” Perhaps his travels sparked his interest in geography, something he loves to study in his free time. He’s an avid reader of history books, citing I, Claudius as his favorite. Given the chance to time travel, he’d choose Ancient Rome. When he’s not traveling, Jake can be found exploring a number of hobbies, including archery, bass guitar, and home brewing. “I’ve been doing archery since I was 11, I’m about to buy another compound bow.” Jake has played bass guitar since he was in ninth grade and still plays weekly. Jake recently picked up home brewing and is currently brewing different types of honey wine.
As a graduate of Fordham University in New York City, Jake loves the story-telling aspect of public relations. “Odysseus had Homer. Everyone has to have someone to tell their story for them. You can’t tell it yourself.”
At SunStar Strategic, we know the importance of clarifying your firm’s message and strategizing how to deliver your message to the right audience.
Jake worked on the public relations side of book publishing prior to joining SunStar Strategic. “Book publishing really helped me be versatile when it comes to finding reporters, I had to work on a different topic every day.”
