Editors are great and they often save us from blunders and typos. But, what happens if you don't have an editor?

Our friends at Ragan.com have put together a handy guide to help the self-editor.

They've covered it all from the very basic reminders to check for spelling and grammar errors, to more advanced tasks like checking for passive vs active voice and correcting antecedent confusion.

The guide includes helpful resources like the Hemingway app, which can help you identify long sentences that likely need shortening, and Utility.org, which will count the average number of words in your sentences.

Maybe you don't have an editor, or you're trying to save a few bucks by editing your own work, either way, don't fret! Check out this handy guide and get to work!
